Please if you can help and advise?
I have just joined Amazon Retail as sr Program Manager a month ago. I miss banking/technology now. I have heard that I can move teams. I know it’s too early so I don’t know how to approach this situation and potential HMs. Reaching out to this community to seek help if you have similar roles for which you (or your network) is hiring, would you be able to help? It’s better to be in a relevant role and be best than performing poor in current role. Please help.
Is April month salary slip generated in FIS Global ??? Mine is not showing, when it will generate?
I doubt they didn't give me quarterly variable , I joined in mid February and even salary came less than previous month.
Did they deduct tax in April month salary of it is then fine because they didn't tax in March month .
Kindly comments if anyone have idea .
Thanks

6 months?? I’m skeptical. I built my portfolio from The Book Shop which is on the quicker end and it was definitely at least a year commitment to go from nothing to a halfway decent book.
There is a lot more to unpack with One School being such a success; and no I'm not talking about agencies desperate to fill diversity quotas. One Club already had a heavy hand in putting amazing people into running that program and started it off with a reputation to live up to rather than to create. Being 100% free cuts a lot of the bullshit and bureaucracy that comes from creating any for-profit program (similar to the bullshit "bartending licenses"). One Club had also tried to buy Creative Circus and got turned away (lol RIP) so I'm sure there was much to learn about what not to do and where to cut the fat if you're starting an ad school
All in all, yes One School proved it's very possible, but they launched with a very high bar and little red tape for a starting point
The Workshop kind of does a free version of this, but it’s just one class.
^ this is a bad take. You don’t need to go to an ad school to be a great teacher and help usher in new talent to a gatekept industry. As a free class, you get out of it what you put into it
A portfolio “school” that’s way too quick to gain anything of substance AND it’s run by the people who ran Chicago Portfolio School into the ground? Gee whiz, what’s not to like here?
Let’s be clear that the two women running it (Sarah and Fran) are the people that kept CPS afloat. Jeff ran it to the ground a long time ago when I was a student and we got evicted from our building.
I’m so excited for Book180 and so jealous this was not a thing when I was trying to go to portfolio school. I literally went through hell to finance my education at CPS, but I got to work with Sarah and Fran first hand. They are literally the reasons why CPS has had such a successful program over the last few years. Sarah is so passionate about helping students learn, and she is mainly responsible for hiring the teachers at CPS (all of the teachers I had where incredible and some of the best in the biz). Also a 6 month program is awesome I think. Advertising is a craft and a learning curve for sure, but I think this will be ideal for people who are working adults or just graduated from a 4-year advertising undergrad. If you are serious, driven, or already have a foundation in advertising then I think you’ll be able to make a great book in 6 months with their help. I’m excited for this and think it’s exactly what this highly gate kept industry needs.
The Book Shop in LA has had an online ad school for like 5 years. Brainco has one too but it's not exactly superb. I think the One Club started one a year or so ago
honestly kind of ironic that the ad industry thinks it's on the cutting edge of the digital sphere and yet still a decade behind on offering online programs lol
Is this associated with 180 the agency?
Copywriter 1 - the site is just a splash page. It’s all in the works.
I think it’s going to be great! It’s definitely a step in the right direction to churn out more talent into this industry. Sarah and Fran (formerly admins at CPS) will be running the ship and are two of the hardest working, most intentional women I know. Who knows if the 6 month program will work, but when I was at CPS I saw firsthand how much they genuinely care about students. They’re passionate about helping people break into advertising. Everyone knows that in person classes and length of programs have always been huge barriers to entry for portfolio school. Maybe this will help people who are on the fence or don’t have the means to move cities or pay for a full program. We all know that you get out what you put into your book… as long as you have the knowledge, creativity, and drive, you can create a strong portfolio. I think their full website will be up soon so everyone can learn more about the program.
