Yeah mostly comes from directors who want to insert themselves thinking they are providing extra value when really it just consumes time from whoever’s managing the project lol
Pretty much this, I chalk it up to an ego thing tbh, and there should be someone on the team who can shut it down...and it's frightening if not because that behaviour tends to escalate!
I hate double dealing. The duplicity of the act speaks volumes about the loyalty to the work; the long game is gone in the internal trust of the home environment.
It made me second guess a lot of things because this person is at my same level. Might be more guarded moving forward….
Definitely one of the most disgusting behaviors at work. Having side conversations with the bosses just to get attention and to impress them at the expense of other people.
Wtf. Are your AD and boss discerning enough to tell the person to mind their business and do their own work?
Oof I wouldn’t 🫢 though I generally keep things close to the chest and maintain a “trust no one” mentality. Sounds silly, but I just assume anything I say will get around and it prevents me from saying something I’d regret.
So for example in dealing with this situation, I wouldn’t talk shit about the narc to other colleagues. I’d call the person directly and ask them why they did that, and that’s it.
You have to be prepared for people like this. However, they are just a bump in the road of your success. They are petty, but pettier.
That is some pick me energy if I've ever seen one. I would just try to avoid that person as much as I can. But then again, if you have to work with them that is another story.
We’re on the same level title-wise but different projects under the same brand. I am not going to confide in them moving forward….
