Really tempted to go out on my own. Is there a way to bring in 5-6 clients a month with just online marketing and not spending a ton?

I'm a true solo. I open an average of 75 files a year. I gross 7 figures. I've never spent a penny on marketing... You can do this!!!

Also, I went solo after being in practice for 15 years. I had been substantially running my old *small firm, so the transition to running my own business was scary but not foreign.

You can do word of mouth and a FB business page. There is also tik tok where you can post helpful tips and recommendations on the area of law you’re practicing.

I’m curious to hear how agencies are structuring their media fees (10%? 15%? 20%!? of spend) Any performance bonus structures? Would love context too. Platforms you’re responsible for? (Fb only? Google & Fb? Emerging platforms?) KPIs? (Awareness/impressions vs. Full funnel d2c) Scope? (Buy and plan vs. Creative AND buying planning). Curious to learn how others’ have evolved their agreements. Thanks in advance for sharing!

I need a laugh. Tell me about your most entitled client.

Mine called my personal cell phone on Christmas Day to ask me the status of her case while I was in the middle of watching my kids open presents. I’d just talked to her the week before and told her that the defendants had 30 days to respond.

What’s a good LA or NY business litigation firm and salary to expect? I’m a 2yr with quite frankly a lot of experience across civ rights, PI, excessive force, wrongful death, employment defense, K dispute, corp. structure dispute, professional licensure. Write every kind of brief, appeals, argue motions, take depos. Am the only associate working directly under partner on all cases. In house or M&A/Real Estate Transactional are likely the end goal but want to get the litigation out of me first.

Any experience working @ Chad Jones law?
I’m currently discontent with my income.
(3rd year. Salary=80k and no performance incentive. I brought in $1.4mm AFTER partners claimed over half of fees on my big cases.)
I see CJL offers an incentive+ base but I’m curious about that structure.
Any good or bad firm culture to speak of?
Is it impossible to actually earn a respectable incentive bonus?
Am I going to have some partner come cut me out of any cases where I might actually make a solid fee?

Hi everyone - I'm contemplating an offer from a large PI firm. I'm a little more than halfway through completing my 2nd year of practice, and I'm currently at a small firm with a low salary that's just no longer cutting it.

The offer from the large firm is for a pre-suit position, base salary of $100K - is this salary pretty standard for this kind of position?

Any insight is appreciated, thank you!!
