I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

AI will perhaps remain everyone's favorite memory for a long time.
My favorite memory that sparked my love for STEM, and how has it shaped my job hunt?
30 some years ago I was told "Industry is SCREAMING for good Chemists!" so I got my degree and 2 weeks later I was Lab Manager at a small chemical blending plant. I did make a few breakthroughs while there (I am the one who formulated an environmentally friendlier antifreeze for a big customer).
It was stable, steady work that didn't suck.
Until the small place was bought by a giant monster who began compromising safety and environmental regulations to make a few extra pennies. We argued a lot and I got downsized along with a bunch of other long tenured staff.
Now the market is all health care positions and I can't even land an interview in my field (manufacturing). I get told my (Vast!) experience does not align.
So if you define STEM as health care only, it's a strong market. But manufacturing in The USA is DEAD.
It has shaped my job hunt in that I am now barely applying to labs anymore and am going back to the porn industry where I got my start (making their websites & editing video or doing video effects). They are the best people I ever worked for in my life!
ALWAYS have backup skills! You will need them one day.
