Sales pressure is constant. Targets look motivating on paper, but when they are not achieved, morale goes down fast. Stress increases, confidence drops, and teamwork suffers. Instead of support, many companies focus only on numbers. Long-term motivation and mental health are often ignored. Do you think aggressive targets actually improve performance, or do they slowly burn out good employees who are trying their best?

I think it's generally bad for motivation and mental health. But I don't think companies are thinking about those things when they are hyper-focused on KPIs. In fact, I imagine employee mental health and motivation are the last things on their mind.

Totally agree with you

I think it’s a recipe for burnout if they consistently only focus on KPIs, but if they focus on it until something is achieved, then it probably wouldn’t have as negative effect

Totally agree with you

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?
