Saw lots of comments about Kirkland from attorneys but curious what do paralegals think about working at KE? Good? Bad?

I have several friends and current colleagues that have worked there. Everyone I know says it’s great exposure to the top clients but it’s a sweat shop. Little to no personal time and forget about WLB.

If you want to be in big law it’s the place.

Several years ago their internal head hunter was very aggressive in recruiting (I was at another large firm at the time). They were offering $130-140k as a base. I wasn’t interested given their approach and horror stories I’ve heard.

it’s not a sweatshop, like every firm, you’re gunna have long hours sometimes

That sounds great. I’m gonna apply anyway

Hi everyone. I was a solution engineer at Oracle. I graduated from college in May and this was my first job out of college so the lay offs were pretty rough. I majored in Supply chain management and I have 2 internships under my belt. Do you guys have any advice or tips on what to do moving forward? I would like to stay in tech and I’m giving it a few weeks before I start pivoting to more traditional supply chain roles. Thanks.

One of my direct reports has asked about going part time. They currently manage special reports in a bi-weekly publication, working closely with sales, freelance writers, and an internal designer. Job duties are primarily project management and editing/proofreading. As the first read on articles, they need to have an understanding of the material (business/regulation). Has anyone had experience with job sharing in this type of a role?

Additional Posts in Paralegals

Has anyone spent years working in one state and offered a remote position for another state? Was it hard to adjust to the new state's rules?

like

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I'd like to keep my current job part-time but get back in a lawfirm too.

Any experience working as a corporate paralegal with Cooley, LLP?

like

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. My position title is changing soon but I’m wondering how helpful that would be for wanting to go into PM work at a tech company. Anyone have any career pivot advice? (Also I’m only 1.5yrs old in my career so I’m definitely still new, and I have previous experience as a project assistant).

So I’ve been with a court for a while and honestly the pay sucks compared to what paralegals should be making… the benefits are great though and they match my retirement 100% now that I’m vested at 3 years.I have 4 kids and 1 is getting ready for college. I feel like the benefits are great but I’d rather make more now. I am a previous LEO for 4 years who switched to paralegal so I have my leo retirement. Paralegals here make $28 with no benefits what is a good compromise
