Saw lots of posts complaining about recruiters, I have to say it’s getting worse these days. One recruiter reached out to me for a job only pays 1/3 of my current base. I ignored her at first because that number is ridiculous. She followed up several time. So, I responded and let her know the salary range is below my target and I specifically let her know it’s only 1/3 of my current pay. However, she kept calling me and insisting this firm MIGHT increase salary if I’m the right candidate.

I told her there’s no way a firm will increase its range by 300%, so I pass and best of luck. I thought this would be the end until she sent a long cursing message… so, anyone can be recruiter now?

I wouldn’t doubt it. I think what you said was perfectly fine. What she did and said is on her.

That’s strange. The recruiter that I worked with are pretty good. Only was ghosted once, I guess I was being lucky. But I understand that these days recruiters can be bad

I’m 3 months into a new job where I work for a global tech company, and I want to ask for a pay review from my manager at the 6 month mark when I pass probation.
I know I’m going above and beyond my responsibilities as I’m not just managing projects, but I’ve also set up a global PMO governance board and have identified gaps within other teams where I’m assisting with the solution.

Is it acceptable for me to be asking this from my manager, and if so how do I raise this?

Additional Posts in Ask A Recruiter - Law

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. I am also looking to relocate to a different state. How do I go about properly marketing myself to companies that might not take my relocation and minimal experience seriously?

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission?
