Do it. I’m biased though, I’d love to get into FP&A.
I would also go for it since everyone wants to get into FPA lol. But I’d also look at other factors like hours and work life balance, chances for for promotion and upward trajectory, and the people you’ll be working with

I'm very happy to have gotten into FP&A (feel like everyone wants to) but I also got a 30% raise. Not sure why you'd be making similar salary from S2. Can you negotiate?
Perhaps because the position is quite junior? Also maybe because S2 salary is okish high in my market (non-US)? I would assume a bit increase but I don’t see much at all. I will have the salary conversation on Thursday
I’m in tax but would also love to get into FP&A. OP, can you share a bit about your background and how you landed this?
I’m in audit. The position I applied for has huge room for someone without strong finance background to grow. I showed them a great willingness to learn. I think I just got luck to get in. Normally in my market FPA positions ask for 1-2 direct finance experience.
It seems odd that the salary is flat given your experience. Have you tried negotiating? Getting your foot in the door is step one, so congratulations on having accomplished that
Yea still room for negotiation but I am just a bit afraid to try. The coming discussion is on Thursday
If you care about money, you should negotiate because one step behind on your comp means you will be always behind in this company in subsequent merits as well as promotion raises
