Desperately want to get into healthcare strategy consulting. 13 years of healthcare clinical experience including project work. MBA. I am on my second year of STEM OPT. Was not selected in the H1b lottery this year. Have another shot next year (still low chances of getting selected). Could I still be selected, assuming that some companies are going to lay off some workers/withdraw apps? What should be my plan B if I don’t get selected next year?

Any really impactful books that have helped you career-wise? Not necessarily consulting focused. In need of guidance and a new book so figured I'd kill two birds with one stone or whatever.

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
