What I know is if i can be a manager at a regular office and yet have my own start up venture(s) on various other skills, it shouldn't ideally conflict but some HR do poke in between

Don't get me wrong, Dreamforce is a valuable experience, but it's primarily for marketing and sales opportunities. I'd imagine leadership sees a lot of requests from younger consultants looking to go to the headliner concert haha
@d1 I appreciate your comments. I'm currently being recruited by ⛷. They are making a great offer and I'm quite torn.
@d1 plz explain
Even if you are the most kickass young consultant, you still don't have authority to sin deals or own client relationships. Sucks, but just how it goes. Marketing budget needs to be tied to actual revenue
Sign* lol
@a1 anyone who is anyone goes to dreamforce. its extremely valuable for developers (like myself, ive been there b4 at my last company). its not just recruiting; all the top talent is there
@a1 but i participate in the sales cycle. i attend sales pitches, make proposal decks, etc. im not just some random new hire grad
Yeah I know, it's awesome. But just hanging out with the "who's who" of SFDC doesn't bring in revenue...
ya but slalom is not just this grind where everything is to bring in revenue. we really value professional growth
Not if you'd like to keep your job
well why would john tobin ask ppl to contact him personally on GD if it was just to lay down the banhammer? i think he rly cares. also @1 how did i get a custom screenname?
@d1 weird, ive never heard of a client that staffed multiple consultancies at the same time. im not discounting ur experience just not seen it myslef; we are def not a 9-5 shop ( but maybe local is idk
3 cities....
how do we know u arent just jelly u didnt get to leave at 5pm and still deliver top quality work
@a1 probably because they are all forner b4 and love to shit on their former employer. i can assure u if i was on any of these projects ud think slalom rocks it ;)
And that's coming from Accenture! We're not even top of the heap
and were competing to take your place
we dont do staff aug, that is a glassdoor myth. gtfo
No, Slalom does staff aug and primarily in PM capacities. OP, to be fair, it's a different model, but the value provided is not equivalent to a Big4. I've never lost to Slalom for anything other than price, for what it's worth. Slalom has some good people for sure, but they're limited by their work hours. There are also a lot of people who couldn't make the transition to client executive positions and were managed out at the Big4
its called counceled out. and id ok i accept your points because this is my first consulting gig and i dont know any better 😊
D1 - is one of the projects you are referring to in Seattle?? This narrative sounds way too familiar..😝😝😊😊
@a2 if it's for a local office and ur burned out and dont like to travel, dooo eeeeet
