Are community manager conferences worth attending?

It depends on what you would be hoping to get out of them. Networking is the main benefit, and it's not something I really prioritize. So for me, the cost and time wouldn't be worth what I get out of it.

In my opinion, yes. They offer a wealth of information and networking opportunities for professionals. Conference topics often include case studies, best practices, and new trends in community management. Additionally, attendees can typically expect to hear from industry experts and network with their peers.

In general, community manager conferences can be a great way to learn new skills, network with other professionals, and get inspired.

PHEV (specifically, RAV4 Prime) yay/nay?

Expected use case:
Family car
Low mileage (<10-11k / yr)
4-5 days a week expecting less 30 miles per day
Weekends 100-200 miles altogether (occasionally)
Rare road trip use (1x or 2x / yr; <300 miles one way)
Have garage (to charge at home)

Chief Concern: "Best of both worlds" in engineering can mean compromises and complications, which can mean non-resilient/unreliable. But I'm no gearhead, so not sure if I'm making massive incorrect assumptions.

I have a coworker who keeps spouting comparative odds and situations in regards to the safety of the vaccine. Such as: you're twice as likely to get hit by lightening than have blod clots from JJ. It's very annoying and I find it to be really inapprorpriate, maybe because it's pushy or just I find these comparative things to be a bit irrelevant. How does one handle something like that? Can you shut the person down without starting a spat?
