My resume got shortlisted for Operations Associate/Engineer-Amazon Managed Services role. I am an experienced AWS engineer with 5YOE.I feel like this role will be degrading in nature for me. Is it worth joining for this position. I would love to join Amazon based on my experience and skill set. But Not to some position which doesn't require AWS experience.

If you are well liked, it’s hard to imagine the firm not taking you back. Good managers are usually in demand. I doubt you’ll have to resort to that though. A Peace Corp volunteer with an MBA is likely the type of person struggling to get a job after a top MBA program now, not the former Big 4 manager. You’ll be fine.
I’m sure they’d take you back but don’t settle for that. I’ve always felt a bit of pity for the MBAs I work with that do the same work and get paid the same as those who didn’t get it
OP said they wanted out of accounting so not sure what relevance talking about people who got mba in order to get cpa has here
You're overthinking this. Unless 2008 happens, which if it does the firm will probably not hire you, you will be able to easily land something better. M7+ CPA will land almost anywhere.
I’m definitely overthinking this 😅
Yes - if you were performing well they would take you back especially given the projected shortage of CPAs. Having said that they are all reducing workforce a bit right now
How in the world did you get accepted into a top business school when you don't have the simple understanding of return on investment??? The MBA is a no-brainer... no matter the cost which key is coming out of an M7 school..
A CFO and doesn't understand nuance and opportunity cost.
As a former PwC manager, I’m getting my MBA and interning in investment banking this summer. You wont have a difficult time finding another job as long as you put the work in. The only individuals who struggled with our background didn’t put in the work for interview and case prep and the time into coffee chats to find advocates at the respective firms they wanted to work at. Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions
Would love to hear how you approached networking and coffee chats at your program as networking is something I have never really “had” to do
What jobs are you looking to get with your MBA?
I am hoping to do strategy consulting at MBB as my first choice.
For getting out of accounting, what is your plan to pursue post MBA? Why can’t you do that now without the MBA?
First inclination is consulting which is essentially impossible for me to pivot into without MBA pipeline. Also looking at some leadership development programs
Hi, can you give some insight on how to get a full scholarship towards MBA? I feel like most people just resort to loans. Interested in pursuing an MBA myself, but don’t want crazy large loans
