There are several salaried roles within manufacturing environments that could align well with your mechanical and equipment experience. Facilities increasingly need individuals who understand how machinery actually operates, not just how it looks on paper. Your hands-on background gives you credibility that is difficult to replace.
You may want to explore roles such as: Maintenance Planner or Maintenance Supervisor, Continuous Improvement Technician, Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer,
Technical Support, Equipment Specialist, Operations Coordinator. Good luck!
I'd look for any kind of entry level office role. Assistant, customer service rep, something like that. Anything that helps you get your foot in the door. Once you're there and acquire some office experience, moving up will be part of your natural progression. I'd be targeting something like office manager long term.

I would use AI to tailor your resume to show “crossover skills” that will enable you to be considered for that.
I would look into a role of a service writer, since you have a back ground, You understand repair times, parts costs and ideally could work your way up into management as long as you have the computer skills to go with it.
SR. Executive 1 has answered this really well. If I can add to that, and this may not be up your alley, or isn’t exactly an office job, but if you’re interested in training, your years of experience will be invaluable. I’m not sure what the requirements are for you in your country, but it may be about upskilling to get a training certification. And again, it may not be your cup of tea.. or gin and t! lol. Just a possible avenue if appropriate. All the best!
