PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?
Forensic tech vs non tech..go!!
AlixPartners I am expecting an offer for VP in financial crime/compliance and risk. I need to give them my compensation expectation. Currently working in Bank with 7+ YOE including 6 yrs in Big4 non-MBA (Masters in Finance). What is the total comp (base+bonus) that I can ask for? What is the general sign on bonus? Thanks in advance

We pay more and work is more interesting. Left big 4 after 2 years and never looked back
the good news is when you leave, you can ask for $130K from non-tech senior roles and all the recruiters are like “omg ur asking for such a small bump up” when in actuality it’s like a 35% increase.
Join for the B4 name - stay for the great opportunities that will hopefully open up in the future
I genuinely think EY is pretty decent, like it's not critically below market rate or anything. I think the EY name is pretty much #1 in forensics - genuine question, who would be ahead of them?
No offense but if EY is competing with BDO that proves my point. Large doesn’t mean top of the market. I would argue the boutique and also most of the Big 4 isn’t bidding on the same jobs as BDO.
@OP - how large would you say Alix Partners, FTI, or A&M are?
Those #’s don’t match up to the market analysis. There are definitely instances where another Big 4 in any given city was paying a premium for people the past year but we are seeing that balance out. If someone believes they are under market then they should speak to your reporting partner and discuss.
In regards to why people stay it’s the black gold and grey colors. It’s really the best color scheme in the Big 4.
I have heard this said numerous times and I have always been curious if the partners would ever make the market study public to the junior staff. I would love to see the methodology and if it is being done properly.
I'm an S1 in EY Forensics and I honestly don't feel underpaid.
Can vouch. I’m an S1 in MCOL, KPMG Forensic with base $104k.
Some people might lack options or they like their teams. Because the pay is so bad that the offer I am currently considering would pay 40% more. In a lower COL city.
I have brought it up to Partners but I think the practice could care less.
Concur EY 7. The market study has to be flawed when I know super small fringe boutiques in LCOL cities that pay just as much as EY does for HCOL. Unless they are comparing to I love my team too (not a fan of the practice as a whole) so that is why I have been here.
I think it’s because their FIDS group is connected to their assurance practice
I left EY but have heard how much my ex-colleagues are getting paid - don’t think they are being underpaid either
I think it depends on the rank at this point. Some still are.
Sadly EY forensic is mapped under assurance. Guess that's why we are paid like 10~20% less than even our own advisory lines (i.e. faas/fdd)
