Also when working for Deloitte Ireland feels like a public sector job . You know your bonus will be trash because there are loads of people on the bench that can’t be sold and their wages still need to be paid. So we all suffer ….. in addition we not wining enough work which isn’t my job to do ! I’m a manager , I deliver work not bring work in ! sigh … rant done for now
Totally agree. Well they have changed the head of consulting but I believe the problem is more deep routed. I think Ita is a great leader but I just don’t trust done some of the partners/directors. The current leadership is adamant to protect SMs and D - who are mostly busy taking care of their new borns from covid hangover. I know few SMs who moved out of the city. They like to show that they are very busy but do very very very minimal at most. Partners know it but they let it by. The projects we get are super boring - we are working more as a recruit and place agency and less as a real consulting firm (TBH even EY works in similar way but they keep their bench very low because there is accountability on leadership).I pity the new analyst and consultant cohort. Also some of the experienced SC & Ms - they are truly mistreated. I honestly hope the storefront changes shakes up leadership a bit and create accountability (if nothing else- atleast they start using a hierarchy & reporting structure similar to other big companies where everyone knows who their sponsoring partner is and who is accountable for their billing/growth in the firm instead of coach/coachee structure).
Why stay at Deloitte if projects are bad, bonuses are trash and you aren't clear on the direction? Surely staying "for the brand" isn't good for the firm's growth... or even more importantly, your own career growth.
