Same, it’s insanity for a one night wear. Not only the dress itself but you need to budget for fit alterations and bustle, another $350+++
I ended up buying off stillwhite (if it doesn’t bother you going preowned). Not only are they highly discounted designer labels, but I searched for dresses already exactly my size, bustle included, which saved even more on tailoring.
My beautiful $2200 dress purchased at $400 incl shipping, and only needed a minor fit alteration for $100.

Check Facebook marketplace!! You can get a dress only worn once before - looking back, that makes so much more sense.
I found my dream dress in a salon for $1700. I was first looking at one for $3300 but felt it was unnecessary to be spending that much.
My alterations will be $575-$675
I know people have even bought from BHLDN and Lulus (literally NO ONE can tell the difference)

So true!! ^^
Bought mine at David’s during a sale, got 30% off. Dress, veil, and a belt for $850. Alterations were $350 for hem, adjusting straps and a bustle
Totally depends on your budget. Unless you’re looking at David’s Bridal or more casual places, I think most dresses tend to run between $1,500 - $5,000. I’m also paying $1,000 for alterations at the bridal salon, but I’m sure you can probably get them done for less elsewhere.
