Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. I’ve previously worked for 10 years as a medical assistant in a variety of specialties and primary care. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck as to my next step. Part of me want to go into management, another part is saying go get your RN, and the other is saying go into Social Work. I’m all over the place. Any ideas? I grew up in a nuclear family away from extended relatives who were never really close. Parents were either emotionally unavailable or distant. All I've wanted for myself was a big loving family to call my own.. my parents are unaccepting of my sexuality & my partners family is also quite fucked up so she's isn't super close to them either. Honestly this sucks & it feels like I'll never have a huge supportive family I've wanted & craved for.

Almost midnight here and I'm cleaning my medicine cabinet so I can reboot having a regular skin-care routine. Living 9 time zones away from home out of the US and watching the BLM movement there, unable to do anything concrete about it from here - this song I've listened to countless times, today about brought me to tears.

I am in a long distance relationship with someone who is currently in B school. He spends pretty much all his breaks and holidays traveling with his classmates. Most of the time I am fine. But for some important holidays and my birthday, I told him we should spend time together. He just said it’s more important for him to bond with his classmates and ignore my ask. It’s really disappointing and I don’t know what else to tell him. Is that a reasonable ask or am I being dramatic?
