Hey Fishbowl family - anyone working at EY-Parthenon that would be willing to chat with me about their experiences (with the potential of a referral)? I have total of 5 yoe specifically in Life Sciences and really would like to explore the potential of interviewing for their NY office. I have been able to land interviews/offers from other T2 firms but would really love to network and connect with EYP. EY EY-Parthenon

Strategy Consulting: Better Pay, more "prestige" and varied exit opportunities, shorter cases so more exposure to different types of clients, worse hours, more strategic projects obviously
Tech Consulting depends on the type.
Digital or Data & Analytics: Good pay (sometimes on par with strategy), high in demand skills and varied exit opps, good hours depending on the firm, projects can be long term, you can also be pigeonholed into a tech role
ERP or specialist in a specific technology: stable, very good hours usually, can be low stress, pigeonholed to a specific technology and as a result, exit opps are more limited, projects are long term
Tech & Strategy consulting isn't also mutually exclusive. Some strategy firms have "tech consulting arms" and you can do overlapping work in both

Which pays more money now and will in the future?
Which gives you more satisfaction?
Don't fall for the prestige crap - prestige does not pay the mortgage.

I’ve done both, strategy is the way to go because you can still do tech work at strategy shops, but it’s very hard to do strategy in a tech consulting role

I’ve done both and going back to tech. The tech type work at strategy shops is far behind that of tech consulting firms, I am losing skills and becoming irrelevant. Also a lot of the tech consulting firms (ACN, Big4) do strategy through to execution. In terms of tech strategy, MBB are where Big4 were ten years ago.
You will get paid more at MBB tho (at least in the short term).
I’m personally playing a long term game and believe future need to be able to deeply understand tech strategy but over leverage on delivery and execution.
