this is show business baby
Totally is. Just not cut from the same cloth for it. And that’s okay
I mean this in a very diplomatic way, but higher up you get and the more money you make that’s just the reality of it.
And that’s not to say every job is like that, but there is stress no matter what you do.
I always like to say between the ages of 21 and probably 35 are your golden years of working. Essentially suck it up move up make a lot of money and then when you’re 35 you can essentially be managing teams, and you barely have to work. But that’s only if you put the time in now. And as you’ll see when you get later in life, you’ll actually enjoy working.
I know the younger generation probably doesn’t agree with me, but do you really wanna be 40 years old making less than 100 K and working for some 30-year-old doing all the work???
Just my two cents and best of luck
I would of worked for you but your team never gave me a chance probably like everyone else its your companies faultt
Maybe you didn’t get a chance because your resume was just as « proper » as your post… just about 20 words, and I detected at least 6 grammatical/spelling errors! If you want to land a professional position, you should start focusing on your communication skills!
Sounds familiar
Good call - that being said, there are some smaller firms that actually have good culture and work life balance.
Find a mid-sized firm with young partners that won’t sell their soul to a PE firm.
