The problem with modern feminism is when the world became a binary zero sum game.
I don’t think any rational man isn’t a traditional feminist. I still perform those actions OP, hold doors/help people who are struggling with luggage.
I think at some point a lot of women decided (and were validated through echo chambers of social media) that this was a negative thing and to accept a man’s help regardless of situation, was a sign of weakness.
Too much us vs them
Equality and financial independence are not mutually exclusive with chivalry or gender. I am a woman and I hold the door for people behind me, whether it’s a man or woman. I give up my seat in public transportation for elderly and children.

I am a woman, and I don’t mix the idea of feminism with chivalry. We are equals politically and economically, but men and women can exist as beings that essentially have different characteristics.
Depends what circles you’re part of. My sister’s in an Ivy League masters program where she’s surrounded by women that truly do just hate men, so her social media and the like reinforce some fanaticism. Regardless, this brand of feminism does resemble the worst form of xenophobic masculinity imo.
It might be bizarre to you (it’s not bizarre) but it is a fact that there are a lot of women (and men) that use feminism as a justification to be masculine and or hate on men.
No one said there was anything wrong with it. I was replying to OPs post. Did you not read it?
And it’s fine but then don’t complain where are all
The good men….. you are the man.
An issue with feminism is that it’s not about equal rights. It’s about special rights. Both in law and in culture.
If it was equal, you should be standing in line to sign up for the draft.
If you want to make the same as a man, that’s fine, we are splitting the bill.
Some like the benefits but not the responsibilities.
When we had a half dead rat in a trap over the summer my strictly desk job husband suited up and finished it off by hand. I wasn’t going to do it in the name of feminism!
Semi-off topic but work spouse concept is gross and I think allows for too much comfortability from a males perspective.
There is zero benefit to having a “work spouse” if you’re a dude. It can only be negative if a woman try’s to play out a one sided fantasy.
Let’s let this concept die. I’m not here to make friends or have extramarital relationships.
If friendships happen that’s fine but let’s not forget why we’re all working.
And what should a man allow you to do?
All of that would be so much easier CSC1 if men put in just a little more effort to understand our emotional needs

This!! I live in a neighborhood where men have watched me struggle to carry a nightstand once, and another time a mini fridge up the stairs. The first time they just stood there, and on the other occasion they just walked on by. I’m like is it our generation? I wonder if men are that afraid of a harassment charge or ending up on some girl’s TikTok.

Agreed. I think SM is terrible for reflecting the values of most people. I think most people recognize the differences between men and women and value it and both sexes support each other in their own way. But it definitely gets less play that “red pill” this or that or “delete men” bc XYZ.
I don’t even see that hyper negativity as an echo chamber, it’s more of a megaphone for the extremely absurd combined with algorithms and ratings that push attention grabbing nonsense in front of your face even of it is ultimate detrimental to the viewer and society writ large. Welcome to the negative use of technology, I guess.
Feminism’s great, we’re all for the cause,
But let’s not pretend we don’t appreciate applause.
We’ll fight for our rights, stand proud and tall,
But we’re not too proud to let you do it all.
Like opening doors, or carrying bags,
Helping with chores, or picking up rags.
We love to be strong, but here’s the twist:
Sometimes we want to be saved—can’t resist!
We’re not against flowers, or sweet little notes,
Or someone who offers a hand when we’re broke.
Feminism’s cool, but we can still see,
Chivalry’s charming—just let it be!
So don’t misread us, don’t take the wrong cue,
We want equal rights, and maybe lunch too.
Help us, take care, and don’t feel dismayed,
We’ll save the world, but we’ll still want that aid!
