The job description for this Junior Analyst role I’m looking at requires 5 years of M&A experience, fluency in Mandarin, and a black belt in Python. I’m not kidding. It’s an entry-level salary. Are firms are just putting out these impossible wish lists so they can tell the board they tried to hire before outsourcing the work? Has anyone actually landed one of these roles?

How do you count years of experience? Lets say you were a web master for 5 years. Then you transitioned into a proper UX role and did that for 5 years. Is that 10 years of experience or 5?
