I'm thinking about going back into consulting from a PE ops/value creation role in industry. Do you guys know of any good smaller shops where someone can slot into a mid level IC role without having to do any of the *extra* firm level, practice level, or forced networking work?

Definitely miss the delivery aspect and nothing else outside of it. Also willing to give up promotions if that's the tradeoff. Appreciate any thoughts and if this is an unrealistic thing to look for...

Do any of the top consulting firms hire into the Engagement Manager level after an M7 (if they had manager experience elsewhere)? I know MBB probably doesn’t but what about other tier 2 firms after that - and asking for US or Canada

I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.
