This is so dystopian. As a Millenial, or Gen Z, it should be equally scary. I’m a Millenial, and for the first time in my life, I’ve become really bearish on the future in the past few years.
I think it’s even bigger than the article states.
For example, the instant readiness and dicey economics of streaming is killing the music and film industry slowly. In wanting access to everything, all the time, we’re damming the creek that fills the pond.
Where are we going as a society if we shut out all creative people from a living?
We become a society solely made of drones, chasing money, with no original artistic expression to be found.
Everything is cyclical, but the trajectory we see now is pretty scary. We can only hope some sort of creative renaissance emerges as enough people say “enough is enough”.
It will eventually implode and we’ll go back or we’ll have to adapt

I’m a millennial and I already feel this. Marketers do not care about storytelling or building brands anymore.
We’re just one of many industries getting squeezed by billionaires and shareholders who need to make more and more money.
What does this ad even mean?
No one knows what it means but it’s provocative. It gets the people going.
Well...could someone hold my purse while I jump off this bridge? I'm throroughly depressed after reading that article. I was suddenly jerked back into my childhood/ adolescence into the deep abyss of disenchantment with the realization that our generation apparently STILL doesn't MATTER!
Jesus Christ, we already grew up knowing we weren't "wanted", but to be aborted AGAIN by society is unfathomably sad to me. What this article failed to acknowledge is that we've been sandwiched by two of the most self-centered, entitled, and vapid generations I've ever encountered in my life. Both of which have no problem finding short cuts in life, shirking responsibility, sidelining respect, reverence and duty for a quick buck and a fast track to the corner office. Least amount of work + questionable ethics + a little nepotism + mommy & daddy's money + legal marjuana = a soulless hierarchy of society, that's who!!! <screaming into my pillow>
Nevermind me...I'm just going to sit here in the winter of my discontent, watch Reality Bites and wait for the Boomers to die and their asshat kids to implode at their wake.
