this is by far the best office job I have ever had. there isn't a more kind-hearted, welcoming, caring, and personable staff and bosses in the world. Career Sabbatical?

Can anyone who has taken a career sabbatical to travel/explore other interests share their experience with both leaving their jobs and returning to the legal field?
I really want to live in Asia for a year at least before I have to settle down and start a family. I’m not getting younger but don’t want to be reckless with my career.

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken?
