Aside from LinkedIn, what are other sources to identify decision makers in large companies?

You could always ask :)

Couple of thoughts here:
1) Just ask! Agree with the above comments
2) Ask them questions that only the decision maker can answer, when they can’t answer, ask who in the org would be able to “help” you find the answers. It’s usually the DM
3) If you have an existing relationship with the company, find an admin of your solution who’s a champion, ask for their org chart. I’ve gotten a lot of “internal only” screenshots with this 🙌🏻
4) Repeat the above with someone else if you hit a roadblock.

I use a combo of zoom info / LinkedIn sales nav + stay up to date on the latest conferences / articles from executives in the industry I’m targeting.

like

Agreed with all that’s being said - LinkedIn Nav and ZoomInfo make for a beautiful combo. That and picking up the phone and making the asks.

This really depends on the industry you sell into. A lot of industries have their own communities and online networks that you can use to determine who to go after. I will also say, this is where having a good SDR really matters - so they can identify the DM for you.

Depends on the industry. For media, Apollo and MediaRadar are super useful

Depending on the value of the lead, sometimes gaining access to a corporate registry can identify the ownership group of certain companies. Mine cost $10 per query, and I get a full breakdown of that. Mostly I will call and straight up ask after some friendly conversation with the gatekeeper.

like

The actual government corporate registry. This will get you to ownership for smaller corps.

Value Added Resellers seem to have a good handle on the management hierarchy.

3.) Get an MBA

Additional Posts in Sales

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I did that for almost 2 years before making the switch. I miss sales, though. Does anyone have any connections to companies looking? I have also considered a sales analyst role considering that I am moderately versed in Salesforce and have worked both the customer facing and sales generating side. TIA!

I’ve been told my company is changing my title from Associate Director of BD to Sales Executive. I’m concerned it reads like a title demotion. Is it just semantics? How will this look for my career development? Curious about the standard perception of Sales Executive from a seniority perspective. Where does this land on the sales roles hierarchy? For context, it’s a professional services firm, I’ve been there 3+years, and they gave a Sales Executive title to someone who just started 5mo ago.

Curious what the base and commission structure is for inside sales and associate director of sales in biotech (also anyone else who wants to share pls put industry). Paid hourly or salary? At the biotech company I work at avg inside sales is $62,632 with a $3500 per quarter cap. Commission structure is % based on sales quota reached vs capped (not a direct % of sales). I’m underpaid at $53000 with $3500 cap per quarter.

Hello, first post here. Outside sales, merchant services/card processing. I’m primarily a welder but I work 4 10-hour shifts typically then I try sales the last three days. I’ve done it long enough to where I’m confident and comfortable going to new businesses, establishing some rapport with business owners. But it seems like a lot of businesses see this as a waste of time, even adding services and cutting costs. I guess either I’m looking for advice or considering not doing this anymore.

I prepared a presentation for an interview with a sales leader, it went well and I was offered a final interview with regional manager. The sales leader I interviewed with gave me a bunch of feedback, but said to find out information about tech stack, which I for some reason, didn’t consider. I come to find out that deep, hidden within the website of the hypothetical client, they use the service already. Do I roll into the final interview and play dumb or do i present and then come clean?
