If someone is targeting data they can place a rogue access point in your room. If the AP has a stronger signal then the hotels wifi your computer will use it. All traffic will now go through the attacker’s network and your data has now been stolen. That is one scenario of many. In the other thread I posted about placing compromised USB singles for someone to steal on purpose. Once the plug it into their system you can have it “phone home” and obtain system and general location data of the person who was in your room..
Another top- if you feel like you’re being followed, change your walking pace. If the person maintains the same distance then, you’re being followed
It is a known fact that an attacker will not look you in the eyes. If you feel that someone approaching you maybe a threat, casually look them in the eyes. 90% of times they will bail on their plan. Don’t believe me, try it with a random and see their reaction.

I'm in security and was former military. I support this haha when I'm overseas I do the water trick but don't really do that in US cause I don't carry high value items anymore.
