Just found out there’s an ECD in a big NYC agency who claims to have won awards, but the name doesn’t pop up in any of the archives.

How do they get away with it?

Any advice on how to handle an ECD in charge of your salary who says the only way to get a promotion or even a COL raise of any kind is through winning an award? Not consistently reliable and solid performance. Not keeping the client happy and profitable. “You either win an award, or all ya get is to keep your job.”

How do I be a decent manager to a coworker who's upset I've been promoted twice in two years and they haven't? So look, not trying to be a dick here, but legit, why do people who live in nyc always give off the vibe that they’re so proud of themselves? Like they’ve accomplishing something just by being there. I’ve lived in huge American cities before but never felt compelled to aggressively pat myself on the back just for signing an overpriced lease. Why do project managers get off on fire drills? Like literally laugh about it. I find it pretty f’d up since the creatives are the ones actually making the work and having to race to get it done. Also, in the case, the “fire drill” was their fault.
