Do you find your job intellectually challenging?
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

I don't want to sound preachy but comparison really is the thief of joy. You're on your own path and you'll be able to achieve everything you've wanted to if you give it love and time! Take it from someone who has been through your journey.

What you REALLY should be jealous of is that their careers have a future.
Try to look in your own plate. There’s ALWAYS going to be someone more successful/lucky/etc. Take care of YOU and try to stop comparing yourself. There’s no upside
Thanks!
There’s money in advertising though, I started my career in 2020 and broke 6 figures last year.
Georgia, all agencies. I’ve worked at a LA based agency in the past.
Yup. I also feel like it’s easier for friends in other fields to get promoted and have fancier titles
But when you explain what you do, aren’t they jealous?
Do you work for a boring agency and do boring work?
If you only just started in copywriting, you’re early enough in to make a change to anything else. Go become an accountant. Or a dentist. Make money, and write whatever you want on a blog.
Cool. Then you’re not in it for the money (the ever decreasing amount of money). So don’t compare to yourself to your friends’ careers and salaries. It’s not apple to apples. Or even apples to oranges. Keep a low overhead. Save as much as you can. And the best way ti get a raise is to move around, so live in a big city with lots of agencies.
