I got an offer from another company. Currently working in walmart. The main idea behind getting an offer is to ask for a salary rise. I was very much underpaid here. So I thought getting an offer will help increase my pay here in walmart by getting counter offer from them. But i am not sure if I discuss with my manager it will backfire me.Walmart

What a way to frame the state of the industry. Out of touch with reality. Privileged.

Anselmo, that’s because only .06% cares. Especially given what else goes on in the world right now.
I have nothing against people who win or enter work. I actually LOVE working to solve creative problems. But this circle jerk fest, is just seen by most of us as a self congratulatory pompous douche bash that we are all sort of obligated to pretend we like. We just keep up with it and enter work because it has the potential to help our careers some. And even that potential is diminishing and shorter lasting as the years go by.
Most of us are far more concerned about still having jobs that pay enough to feed our families, hopefully without losing our souls in the process. Most of us are far more concerned about the state he world is in, about being replaced by AI, about our kids’ futures, our mortgage or rent, about dying of a heart attack in our 40s. So yeah, that would be about 99.94% of us. Because even a lot of the people who worked on the pieces celebrated at Cannes, don’t even get to make it there to pick up their awards.
Gosh, you need to get rid of that black cloud hanging over you - its not healthy to worry so much about "most of us" life is for living not worrying about dying or starving (unless you are dying or starving which i suspect not many on fishbowl are)
And 99% of those people are approvers of work, not creators.
I think that’s kind of a stretch. These are just selfish people who think they’re responsible for everything good that happens at their agency.
What's winning in this context? Working 70 hours a week while all the mysterious things wrong with your body go undiagnosed, just to spend a few days in the south of France?
Exactly. I promise you can buy a first class flight to Lions and stay in a 5 star hotel and do whatever TF you want to do without slowly killing yourself for 20 years first.
13000 at Cannes is way too many
Yeah, won the BS award
Those farts don’t smell themselves, you know
Problem is everyone hates how it all works, till they go. And then the protect how it works because they had to wait and play the game. So nothing will ever change. Just accept and embrace it as part of the journey through this industry.
But it always seems too - a consistent problem creating a cycle of Institutionalized Hypocrisy
🤦♂️ My social feeds have been gloriously Ramos and Vee-free for 5 years until JUST now. Thanks for nothing, OP! 🤬🤣
Getting to go is about the only real award you get in this industry other than free pizza.
Did Cannes start a creator program? Didn’t realize they were struggling with attendance.

What a knobhead
So all the rest are losers.
This is a man who doesn’t see the writing on the wall for this industry.
Why pay the AOR when you can bring the team in house?
