I could not advise more strongly against OAS. The work we do is staff augmentation- contracting, not consulting. You get no say in projects you’re staffed on, senior leaders have no interest or visibility into any of the work you do. Horrendous culture starting with Senior leaders, and they’ve failed to up compensation to remain competitive with other firms
Lol, no. S&G work is still majority staff Aug/long term implementation projects. there are some better projects but actual traditional consulting work is such a small minority it’s not even a drop in the bucket. Plus, we can hardly even sell any strategy work a year, so our utilization is super low and everyone just spends time on BS ‘practice contribution’ efforts all day. For your career’s and sanity’s sake just stay away, I would’ve if they had been even remotely upfront about the work we do in the hiring process. Not to mention cancerous culture from incompetent and short-sighted middle managers.
The pay band for a certain level can be very wide…
Stay away from Guidehouse
Left OAS within the past 6 months, pay is pretty low overall (TCC for SC ~$95k - $135k). But, it’s a good WLB for consulting.
Optum SC band is also super wide. Are you already within Optum and looking to move to OAS, or in OAS and looking at a switch to Guidehouse?
