How do you deal with clients who act like they know more than you even though they don't?

For those of you who work in an office:
Do you ever get on Grindr while at the office? Have you ever seen anybody you recognize from work? I’m sometimes curious to see who’s around but also realize it’s kinda dumb.

I keep fighting with the product managers on my team, who keep assigning me new features to build without checking first if I had the bandwidth for it. How do I communicate this politely?

Wondering if it’s just my v20 firm but it is so annoying when you have to work for incompetent partners that do not have the capability or stamina to do the work, but have one client or bring in one large matter every couple years. I don’t know how the client likes them since they don’t do any of the legal work.

I got promoted, but so did the other guy. We’re on a small team and all I can do is compare myself to him and obsess over what that conversation must have looked like. Who was closer? Who was better? Etc.

I know it’s dumb. We both got what we wanted and he’s AWESOME! It’s totally fair, but has anyone else struggled with this? Just checking.

Do all these managers and partners actually like me, or are they just being extra nice because all the other seniors quit? 🤔🤔🤔

How do you handle micro managers? I’m a second year transactional associate and for the most part the partners and senior associates I work for trust me to get the work done. But this one guy is constantly checking up on me, asking for status of deliverables long before the deadlines he gave me, and just generally pestering me on everything I do. I am going to go insane if don’t figure out a way to stop this.

So I went out to Chipotle to grab lunch real quick. The next person in line stood literally a foot away from me. Politely asked that we maintain some more distance and got called a “crazy person” 🤦🏽‍♂️

Hi y’all! Hope this is the right bowl to post this question and get advice. I am dealing with an employer that preaches our values. The owner states that the values are important to her etc yet my manager violates these values and is involved in unethical behavior frequently. Example 1: My manager has told specialists (resourcers) that she will pay them under the table in order for her (manager) to get full credit vs splitfor the placement and therefore (barely) hit her target for the quarter.

I have a client who has a someone who keeps defaming him. We just ended a year long law suit based entirely on a statement made by this person. Is it worth it to seek an injunction against this party?

I feel like I don't fit in with the upper middle class culture of accounting sometimes. I come from a lower middle class family, and it's hard to relate to the things my coworkers talk about - fancy houses, fancy cars, new gadgets that they are getting. I never grew up with those things, so I'm a little lost or it just don't seem that important to me. Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.

Recovered from Covid and luckily had mild symptoms overall. One symptom that started part way through & is still lingering is severe dry mouth at night. It's bad enough that it interrupts sleep. I stay hydrated, use a special mouth rinse & a humidifier, etc. But the dry mouth is still bad. I wake up every hour with a dry pasty feeling & have trouble swallowing. Dr doesn't have any new ideas. Taking a shot someone on here went through similar (or knows someone who did) and found a solution. TY
