Thoughts on well water? Found a property to build our house but wife is heavily opposed to well water. What are the things we could put in place from the get go to help alleviate well water smells/tastes/concerns? Any approximate costs are helpful to know, too!

You can buy filters, but well water gonna well. You can try anything from monthly filters ($50/month) to tanks and filtration systems that cost thousand$. Besides the odd taste, it also turns white clothes a yellowish color and leaves rust-colored streaks in the bath and shower. I hate well water.

funny

Why can’t you use a whole house reverse osmosis filter?

like

It pushes the water through a membrane that removes all dissolved solids. I have a small under sink version but my neighbor has a whole house version. His sits in his garage and has a 55gal tank that holds the clean water. Because the water is so pure, some versions add minerals back at the end to adjust the taste. I measured the dissolved solids in my tap water, filtered water from my refrigerator and water from my reverse osmosis purifier and the filter doesn’t remove much. Maybe 10%. The RO system removes 90%+ of dissolved minerals. A whole house system is probably several thousand dollars.

Depends on your area but I like my well water

Is this in Florida?

North east Ohio

it’s a dumb thing to get to get hung up on

Didn’t work in the house I lived in.

I love my well water. I don’t like the smell of chlorine and fluoride in public water…

All of Arizona uses reverse osmosis lol

New strat folks.
1. Buy a condo complex.
2. Put the land under said condos into a land conservatorship (for taxes)

5. Have another business generating revenue to offset this.

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?
