Overall, patent jobs with the government are great gigs (USPTO, ITC, DOJ, etc). Great WLB, lots of flexibility to WFH, and most administrations don’t really pay much attention to patents (so it’s a fairly Trump-proof gig). But note that it’s a huge pay cut. Even the highest paid gigs in DC, around $191k, are way lower than in big law. But depending on your financial situation and what you want out of your career, the pay cut could be worth it.

Considering the recent RTO and other Trump shakeups, maybe hold off on this idea for a few more months. But if you live close to a regional patent office, there may soon be a number of openings caused by this recent shakeup.

Will there be any impact if I don't perform as per their expectations?
Will it be of any benefit to me if work in voluntary project? Will HR recognize this project contribution as valid work?

Hey folks.. got some family problems back in home country, planning to move back to India. Can anyone hook me up with any good opportunities there?

Got 6 years of business consulting experience.

I’ve only slept with one person, my wife. I have not openly shared this with anyone because there’s a stigma that I “settled” or I don’t have numbers on the board like a man should. I’m not overly religious, so that was never a driver in the equation. I admit, I do think about the “what if” every once in awhile but I’m honestly getting to the age where I feel I’m beyond my prime anyhow.

I currently work in Atlanta for a healthcare management company that is local to the area. I just got into the healthcare industry and have my bachelors degree in health science. I work in a position in the revenue cycle and I am looking to possibly get a new job in a more established company. I want more stability and opportunity within a company. Does anyone know of any places in/around Atlanta or remote that may fit this criteria? Sorry for the vagueness. Thanks!

Additional Posts in Patent Litigation

Billables as a mid-level IP litigation associate at Big Law, AM100, and AM200 firms? I’m currently doing 60% patent prosecution, 40% litigation at a mid-sized IP boutique and am considering lateraling for a patent litigation position, but I’m concerned about work life balance, especially since my SO and I are expecting. I currently have a 1900 target, and I routinely bill about 2000. I’m interviewing at DLA, Saul Ewing, Honigman, and Fox Rothschild (all DC offices).
