To those that travel a lot for work, how much of it is actually done in person vs remote? I am looking at changing from full remote to traveling 40% of the time for no difference in pay doing the same work as before just in front of the client. Is there a lot of benefit to this besides flight status or did my job just became a greater time sink?

You will work less when traveling. That’s a big deal. Consulting without travel means working more for free with no perks.
When Covid hit and we switched to remote, I was working at least 30% more.

When you travel, it is accepted that you ll be offline while in transit (few hrs a week), and that there won’t be any meetings during flight time. In person meetings and working in the same
Room are more efficient. Less time wasted on calls.
Also, when you travel, you are not expected to bridge the time zone difference. No need to be up at 6 am PST to cover your East coast clients. While you’d need to remain online till 6 pm PST because your West Coast colleagues are still online.
I lost interest and engagement in Consulting due to fully remote work, and left after 8 yrs.

It’s part of the role. The benefit is to the client, not to you.

It’s fine. Lean in and take advantage. These aren’t the good ole days but have fun traveling for work. Be in person. If you aren’t, it can be offshored!

They both have their benefits and company match.

The 90k is also a new team so a lot of growth opportunity while the 72k is well established team. If this matters at all.

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!

This post is an alert message for anyone joining the Johnson & Johnson EMEA account for SAP & had Rakesh Sharma for their Manager round.

He is nothing less than a con man & will promise you a lot to make you join the account. After that he will put you in testing projects. If you ask for a release, he will either not release you or release with a very bad rating and influence other project managers to not take you into their projects.

You will be left with no choice other than leaving TCS.

Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .
