Trump’s tariffs are already having an impact. Look at what is going on with Nintendo coming off the heels of what should have been a big week for them. As marketers, what will be our roles in dealing with this within the organizations that we work for? Please share your thoughts.

Talk about awful timing for their release, what a nightmare. I'm guessing our role will be trying to make the worst of a bad situation by convincing customers to spend more money than they're used to on our products and services. Messaging will be crucial, as will promotional and discounting strategies.

Yes it was the worst timing. Things got even more out of control when they announced the price and how much games will cost. Gamers are NOT happy.
I think our role will be to help manage customer expectations, communicate transparently, and find creative ways to navigate price increases or delays while keeping the brand’s image intact. But gosh this tariff stuff is really starting to freak me out, I want to understand it better so I can be more comforting to clients but right now it all just seems like such a dumb mess. Anyone read any good primers/explainers this week to help me make sense of it all?
The Washington Post has a very good article on how the tariffs were devised, which was a pretty chaotic and ill-informed process. Anyway, at this point we've just been in a wait and see pattern, but I guess over the next few weeks we'll have to deal with whatever disruptions come our way. I think I know how my team will be hit, but I'm hoping it's somehow avoided.
