That would be a hard pass for me, personally. I know somebody who had a bunch of bitcoin and he lost it, probably millions of dollars worth. I don't like a currency that can just disappear like that.
Give me BTC bonuses all day. Would have to be BTC, I would be a hard no on any other crypto.
Because that makes sense /s
Hard pass.
I’m not anti-crypto but it’s for me to decide.
Unless somehow it gets taxed preferentially no thanks, if I want it I can buy it with my cash.
If given the choice though, I would take a bonus direct deposited into a pre-tax 401K. They never seem to give you that choice though
This is dumb. Crypto is a risky investment decision for many reasons and each employee should have the opportunity to decide how they want to invest their money. Give people a cash bonus and let them use it how they need to.
Crypto is risky but I like the risk. I would take it especially if it was BTC. I don't think it should be mandatory for everyone though. Not everyone is comfortable with that risk.
The legality of it is an interesting question. I guess because it's a bonus they can give you crypto, they can give a set of steak knives, they can give you a membership in the jam of the month club. And I guess they're all worth about the same. I'd be curious to know what the advantage is to a company to do something like that. It seems like an exceedingly weird move.
I would not go with crypto lol
I hate this! However, I think it might become a thing. I thought crypto would’ve pettered out already, but it keeps growing in popularity. I bet tech companies push cryptocurrency first.
