Working, otherwise I wouldnât need work auth. Though this week, maybe just meetings.
Yeah, Iâm not winging the whole process I've got the full stack of paperwork and lawyer on speed dial. We're well supported on this type of thing. Just looking for data points on the part of the process BCG doesnât control ie the CBSA on-site processing.
Does your paperwork indicate you are being sponsored by a Canadian business entity and that you wonât be paid by any Canadians? That is, BCG in the US will continue paying you even if BCG in Canada sponsors you. If thatâs in the papers, you should be good. It also helps if the letter you have explains your credentials. The whole process took me about 45-60 minutes, which consisted mostly of waiting around.
Again, very confident my paperwork is order and have lots of expertise on that topic. Thanks for the datapoint on timing.
are you actually working or just attending meetings
One thing I know itâs not instantaneous you may work with your organizations people mobility
Canada is weird sometimes you need a letter sometimes a work visa sometimes neither
Part of it will depend what airport youâll be at - somewhere like Toronto or Vancouver will take longer than a smaller airport since they see the highest volume of people which makes them ask more questions
Shouldnât take more than 30 mins. Had mine done 2 weeks ago but I landed around 8 pm and airport was mostly empty.
Ended up doing it late night arrival at a mid-size airport. Pretty painless. From arrival to approval was maybe an hour
