Do you think we’ll ever travel again or will we be remote forever?

I’m sure will travel again, but Lee Moore was saying it might be something where you travel for start of the project, key times during the project, then at the end. The rest would be work from home. I like that schedule personally. To be the most “lifestyle friendly” consulting company.

For me I wanna move out to the country and get some land or live on a lake. Working from home more often would let me do that.

In my ACN office a day or two a week and traveling to client site on average once a month sounds like a dream. Here's hoping for the future of flexible travel! And here's a good laugh at the people that said this work would never change - all it took was a global pandemic.

So I took a job as an environmental scientist back in private sector two months ago. All I do all day is write reports & keep our clients out of trouble with the Dept of Environmental Quality. It’s kind of boring. The lady I report to (she’s not really my boss. We have a small office 5 hrs away from main office, so we are more or less remote staff) is a typical boomer. Geologist from the 80s, and she’s the best of the best. Nice and eccentric—her husband got diagnosed with cancer the week (cont)

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Questions for my fellow EAs out there:
1. How many of you travel for your job? If so, are there stipulations?
2. My team is having an 2-day offsite meeting in another city and many folks outside of our team are all traveling in for it. Some are only attending for an hour. My exec told me yesterday I couldn’t attend (after weeks of asking him), citing that we couldn’t have excessive hours of OT (maybe 4 hrs). I do not feel valued as a team member.
Should I bring it up or let it go?

Hi Sharks,

I am a Software Engineer from India. Require job in Singapore in a reputed company.

Roles - Business Analyst/ Data Analyst/ Business Intelligence Engineer/ Data Engineer.

YOE - 1.2 yrs

Remote work is fine too.

TIA.

I am starting a new job that will require a lot of travel. I currently have the chase freedom flex (downgraded from preferred 2.5 years ago) and Amex blue cash, never use the Amex. I am in between CSR or Amex Platinum, leaning towards CSR but I won’t be eligible for the 60k bonus points since I earned them when I had the preferred. Would CSR still be worth it, assuming my biggest spend is on food/groceries and I love to travel internationally (1-3 trips a year) or should I go for the Amex? TIA.

Hi all - I am looking for some advice and possible future options. I have associate/senior KPMG experience and moved to industry working in investment accounting. I have passed the CPA exam and am looking at getting the CFE. It seems like a lot of forensic/fraud positions are based in IT/programming or other computer based skills. Are there avenues in fraud/forensics that would be open to someone with my experience? If so, are there any skills/certs that I would need to be a desirable hire? TIA!

Partner works 20-30 hours/ week no kids and is a slob. 3 months ago made chore list, got them to sign on the list the 50/50 split that it was fair. 3 months later I've been doing my chores they haven't done any. Brought it up today and was accused that the list was unfair they refuse and they dont have time because they must "work to subsidize your expenses"

Hi fishes!

I've been working as a freelancer for the last 1yr as a UI/UX designer. Now I'm thinking of switching back to a full time job in the same field. Usually companies ask what's your current and expected CTC. In this situation, what would be the best response? Shall I give them my last invoice that I got paid or tell them it's variable?
Also, what should be the expected CTC with 4 YOE in Product design or UI/UX role?

Any suggestions and thoughts are highly appreciated!
