I am a new associate (1 month in mid-tier firm) and I struggle to get work to fill up the whole day. In honest time, i get about 3-5 billable hours a day. I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Riddle me this Batman: Im told that I can bill X amount for X task but no more, or warned that I may not plan and prepare for certain things even though I do (lost time) Exhibit A: Can’t bill to plan and prepare a motion or pleading, plus bill for the drafting of the document. Seems not grounded in reality to me.
