I’ve heard good things on the whole, it can be cheaper than someone in person but youre just getting a receptionist not someone that can pitch in for other work.

Which is all I would need…filling a hole for a part-time receptionist that retired w/o notice (emergency medical) and not able to give us time to hire a suitable and permanent replacement. Don’t want to be up against the ropes and not have the time to search for the right person.

Virtual assistants can be super helpful. Just make sure their personality is a good fit, and give them a trial period to make sure that you work well together & they handle things the way you'd like them to be handled for your business. Have you thought about where you might look for someone?

I haven’t done much yet. I figured I would start here. Is it a contractual thing? We do have a posting on Indeed and have some interviews lined up, so hopefully will only need the service for a short period. But in the meantime I have paralegals covering the phones 2 days a week and things are starting to get backed up!

I am actually a virtual assistant and I love the job. I work from 10-2 ET and my boss checks in with me either via email, text, or phone call on what she needs to be done for the day or week. I am essentially in charge of her schedule, responding to emails, making phone calls, putting together reports, billing, timesheets, stuff like that.

I have. I have two really great virtual assistants that have worked out really well. Idon't know what I would do without them to be honest. Its hard to find good people though, I will say that.

Sorry about the “start”, don’t know how that got in there

Which platform or agency are you getting your VAs from?

We’re currently using Smith.ai to answer phones. It’s a little pricey but they do a great job and they integrate with our client management system (Clio)

Are you contacting them directly? Or through an agency? We did the latter.

Hello! Looking at an opportunity with established startup in UK that's just been acquired by a large co. I'm US based and my salary is around $250k (NYC) -I've been asked my expectation without the startup giving me a range to work from (though I've asked). I'm not sure how to reply to them because I have a feeling that my requirement may be out of their range and while I don't want to undercut my value, I also don't want to be cut out of the process because it's an interesting co. Any advice?

3 attorney firm. I’ve been here for 6 years and have used Westlaw exclusively. Now we are switching to Lexis because apparently Westlaw is too expensive. I hate change.
