Hi guys, Now VMware is offering me a 35% percent hike of what I am earning at DellEmc. I just completed one year at DellEmc. Total 2.7YOE But I don't like to go out of Dell, due to some personal commitments I am planning to switch.
Is it a good time to switch?
Can I talk with my manager ?
Are they able to hike the salary of what VMware is offering? Please suggest me.

Gave interview in TCS, it went pretty well. At the end, the tech interviewer asked my expected ctc. After mentioning as 27lpa, he asked if can be negotiated, told yes.
After that didn't get any feedback, its been around 5days.
Is 27lpa too much fr tcs? 🤔

Been at NT for 10 years. Pay for external hires if you have experience can be good, but pay once you’re internal (for promotions and moves) is terrible. They do take advantage of internal hires, so just advocate for your pay now as you don’t want to start too low and be hindered by that for years to come. Benefits are good though and bonuses, depending on the group, can be decent. If you’re interested in maternity/paternity leave, it’s one of the better policies in the industry (6-8wks disability plus 10wks paid parental leave in addition to your 4 weeks vacation and then 6 unpaid if you want to take beyond that).
I’d say as long as you can advocate for your market value now coming in while the industry is hot for hires, you’ll be set up decently for pay and promotions in the future since it’s all percentage based from there on out when it comes to bonuses and raises.
Thank you for the response! I’m changing careers, going from a business analyst in insurance to more of a finance/investment analyst role and information like this really helps. I signed up for the CFA level 1 in August so hopefully that helps me with the career change
I have heard really good things about them. I had a friend who worked there and she said the culture and wlb are great. She also said the benefits are good.
