"Experience" is more of a factor of "exposure" than just purely the number of years. In consulting you get exposure to a large number of business challenges and environments. And as a result you have gained the necessary experience even though it may not seem like a lot of years.
You're a consultant, you should be able to come up with one! Off the top of my head: regardless of time, I've had the experiences that make me confident I can excel in this position blah blah blah
1 consulting year is equivalent to 3 industry years
Tell them consulting years are like dog years.
Requiring at least 10 years experience. I feel I can perform the job. Not sure how to respond when they say you are qualified but don't have enough years:
