Most of us don't want to talk to random people on the Internet about that stuff. Plus, it's sometimes hard to include all the details that made event what it was, when talking or writing about it.
Nobody will admit nor deny. It is something not to be discussed with the public especially here in the internet.
No. Bullying and hazing are not tolerated in the military and are not condoned in any way. All members of the military are expected to treat each other with respect and dignity, regardless of rank or job.
My partner was subjected to endless hazing when he was injured. Despite being talented at his job, he was massively sabotaged at work. He chose not to address the situation. Apparently, it was traditional in some units. I can see why people choose to stay silent.
It's a can of worms situation. I will never understand why soldiers who are hazed horrifically are the ones that stand up for it. Is it to try to convince yourselves that you did the right thing by not standing up for yourself and demanding the dignity you're entitled to? Because apparently, people should know what to expect when they sign up for the army.
This question has got me thinking about a lot of things. I identified something that was out of line, and for whatever reason, I failed to do my job and report what was a flagrant violation. The question I now have is, is there a time limit to reporting a hazing or straight-up bullying incident?
Bullying/harassment is very real in our military and has been utilized on many occasions to destroy lives. Just because you have a higher rank before your name doesn't mean your life is more significant than others or you are infallible. Leadership must start standing up for what is right regardless of cost instead of protecting their self-interests.
I want to tell anyone who's experienced bullying or hazing to utilize your resources. File a complaint. This is why EO exists. Don't let those ignorant people ruin a career/job you have worked hard at. You did the same thing they had to do to get to where you're at, don't let anyone take that away from you!
You can have very clear injustices dealt to you for all to see, and it makes no difference. Unfortunately, when you blow the whistle for EO, all it does is get you even more poor treatment and loss of opportunities. That's why most people would rather suffer in silence.
Yes. And after reporting the incident, nothing was done. Meh.
