We've got a staff photoshoot next week. I'd normally be fine with it, but I'm 99% sure I'm taking a new job starting in November. I can't reveal to management that I'm leaving yet, though. I'd feel remorseful knowing my photo could be up on their website for a year after I quit. Should I use a bogus excuse for the day, even if it means my boss gives me the side-eye, or is this just "business" and I should go to the photoshoot?

I just found out a new colleague was brought on at 20% higher salary than my current salary. (Have been w/ firm 1.5 years) She doesn’t have a 4-year degree (working on it). How do I bring this inequity up and ask to be compensated equally? I have years more experience and My work is more complex - she is basically a receptionist. Any suggestions would be helpful!

NJ office: no NYC tax, don't have to file 2 state return. Live in NJ so auto assigned to NJ office currently.

NYC office: NYC tax on paycheck, easier commute, possibly higher pay?

I got the job! but the new gig requires relocation... Terrified about leaving NYC, but ready for a new chapter.

How do I get a job as a Mechanical Engineer if I dont have experience?

I couldn’t get an internship while in school. I have a BS in ME and projects from school under my belt. I’ve also passed the FE exam. I’ve been mostly just doing CAD for a company for the last year by creating minimally dimensioned drawings and moving parts around in assemblies. I want to evolve in my career and be doing more. I worked so hard to earn my degree and I feel like I’m not even using it. But who will hire me?
