Wait until the last minute to do something, so things needlessly become urgent fires when they could have been handled better with more preplanning.

This is literally every attorney. Documents could have been drafted and ready for review a month ago with nearly daily reminders, and they just don't do it... and then want you to draft an extension. Just review the document!

Ask me to handle something complicated and time consuming at 4:54 pm. Smh.

... usually on a Friday, amirite? Then it's "do you want me to stay tonight to finish this, am I working over the weekend, am I allowed the overtime, or can this wait until Monday?"

Mine is great with the exception of one thing: he chews gum, LOUDLY, from 9 AM to 5 PM, and probably before and after that too. He only started doing this after he gave up smoking. I'm happy for him for making a great lifestyle change, but still. It drives me berserk.

Not communicating with me on the status of cases, such as hey you can quit working on the XYZ case because I settled it two days ago and I am still in full mode trial prep!

OMG

At what point are you too specialized to lateral to internal audit? Why don't we choose a time date and place

Being Desi my mom has always had opinion on what I wear and how I dress up . We are planning for baby shower and she mentioned that she has few Sarees that she shopped and would send it over. I told her that I want to choose what I like though she agreed with it I feel guilty that I am making a decision . How do I even get over this guilt of making my own choice and not listening to my parents or in laws . This goes from choosing a dress to going out for dinner 😞

I'm looking to switch from criminal prosecution to in house. I have a 13 year background in healthcare and white collar fraud investigations. I'm looking to limit litigation (I've tried enough cases) and hopefully increase pay switching from government.

I am getting summarily rejected from a lot of postings and I'm wondering if it's even possible to switch over. Anyone make the jump or have advice on doing work to make the transition?

I’m interviewing with another firm next week. Has anyone made a switch like that before? How did you do it? I work in a small criminal firm now. Interview is with a same size/practice area firm.

I currently work at an international law firm (4 years) and recently accepted an offer to go in house. The main attorney I support did not take the news well and was very angry with me. I feel awful and beaten down as I don’t want to upset anyone but the new role is fully remote and a nice pay bump. Looking for words of encouragement that I did the right thing. I feel awful 😞

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.
