What are the chances Congress prevent a government shutdown this year? With the election coming up and everything being in such upheaval this year a shutdown wouldn't even surprise me at this point. I think with Republicans trying to sneak voting measures into the stopgap, we're not going to get anywhere anytime soon.

I agree. I think a shutdown this year is inevitable at this point. Nothing's getting accomplished.

I don't think a shutdown is guaranteed, but one or more CRs are a guarantee.
Johnson seems marginally better at wrangling the malcontents in the Republican party than his immediate predecessors, though Pelosi is the gold standard for doing so.
