Dm for referral at PwC
Kind souls who successfully exited to Google,
Would you be kind enough to refer me to a role at Google!
Came across a role that's a good fit. Would ideally like to target it through a referral and not by applying through the career site.
Would also love to maybe take you for a meal or alike to thank you for it :) Google

HCP Copy on my end
As an AD I feel like writers are in far more demand that Art, at least that’s been the case with most agencies I’ve worked at.
Community Builder
If LinkedIn ads are anything to go by, many large agencies are now looking for freelancers who are both independently wealthy and half-witted. Who else would take $35 an hour eh, Publicis?
It’s directly proportional: the more ads that are demand, the more we need writers. Gotta have someone to write the ads.
Writers
Definitely need more writers in every agency I’ve worked at. Turnover was/is also very high in the copy department since they’re so overworked (because there aren’t ever enough writers, on top of AEs + ECDs making promises to clients far beyond what the agency can handle) that new hires often leave within 6 months to a year or so.
I don’t blame them, they never seem to be staffed up enough and with the high turnover rate, it’s the blind leading the blind when it comes to onboarding.
The agency where I work mostly has freelance writers that are acting as FT staff (as in, they have FL writers and ADs in client-facing meetings, and FLs interfacing with clients in ANY way used to be a big no-no at every agency I’ve ever worked at in my 25+ year career).
I think the agency has had to settle for taking on mostly FL writers and ADs because said writers know working FT there would be a tremendous paycut without the overtime pay (since the workweek ALWAYS is way beyond 40 hours especially for writers). I also freelance there for the same reason.
