What do you guys get your parents for gifts when they've said they don't need or want anything? My mom doesn't really have any hobbies... Or interests...

Dang y’all are at a new level tonight 😒. My mom doesn’t really have hobbies or interest either, so it’s not far fetched. I do agree, I think time would be a really nice gift. Last year, I bought a puzzle to do with my cousins for Christmas, and they ended up being too young, so my mom and I finished it, and it’s a really nice unexpected memory I have 😊

I find it hard to believe that your mom doesn't have any hobbies or interests. Maybe your gift should be to be a better son/daughter.

Damn P2, no reason to be so aggressive. Is someone projecting their own insecurities, hm?

While I can understand why y'all might say that, you don't fully understand just how boring my mother is.

I don't disagree my parents gave me a lot and provided for me. My mom just doesn't particularly like doing things. Her whole side of the family is like that.

like

Just calling it like it is. Your parents probably gave you so much. The least you can do is put some effort into a gift.

like

Give them an experience - nice dinner out, magic show, musical, etc.

like

I'm sure your mom has interests or hobbies... You just need to learn what they are i guess

like

As hard as that is to believe..then the best gift you can possibly give to her is just being with her, spending time with her, do nothing with her, order some nice dinner in, watch movies with her, take her to the spa for a massage one day

Can totally relate. Part of a boring family. We don’t really have hobbies or interests. I struggle with this issue annually.

As a mom I with grown kids, best gifts have been experiences. Daughter surprised me a few years back with a movie night - show old Christmas movies (Its a wonderful life, etc) at a theatre with sing alongs (and a bar!). We both had so much fun it has become an annual thing. I treasure that. My youngest son has just taken me out for brunch - and we chat about all sorts of things. I do the same now for my mom - and we both get so much more from that type of gift.

For my mom and dad I booked a trip to Quebec for my whole family! It was not incredibly expensive because we can drive there, and Airbnb is super reasonable. Experiences always >>> things

Same here. Mom and dad are hella boring but wonderful people. One year I forced them (literally had to throw them in the car and demand that we go) and took them out to a SkyZone bounce place. Mom loved it. Dad wouldn’t jump but had fun watching everyone. It’s now a ritual anytime we are all together for major holidays. I recommend just going nuts on Groupon until something sticks. 🤸🏻‍♀️

And second the more time gift..clearly if you dont think your mom has any interests or hobbies you havent spent enough time with her to know what she actually enjoys

If I said I didn't need or want anything and you got me something, I'd kick you out of the basement.

Planning to buy my mom a SUV this week

Gift cards

Coffee mug saying worlds best mom and a photo frame with picture of you too

I'm with OP and struggle for gift ideas every year. And it's my mother and father in law, as well as my wife. The three of them are passionate about nothing. The in-laws watch 14 hours of TV per day, and sleep the rest. They really have no hobbies or interests.

Maybe I should get then a remote control they can actually understand.

3. Work life balance depends on Project and managers you work with
