So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
Cognizant Recently cognizant have changed their internet wfh allowance policy.we use to get 1800 per month as internet allowance without submitting any bills or transaction details. Now they changed the policy as we need to apply for icici/axis/hdfc credit card from there we need to make the transaction and reimburse the same. I am ok with everything but why i need to apply for credit card? How a company can force me to have a credit card? It will directly/indirectly alter the credit score right? Cogniza
Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte
I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?
What are my chances of negotiating into a VP level role with at-least 155k?

If you get laid off after receiving your card, then nothing happens, you have your card and life goes on. If you have not received your card, then the process might get cancelled depending on where you are in the process.

Is it technically advantageous to be somewhere in the process? And if so, what stage of process it should be (roughly number of months since it has started?).

If you never had a green card in hand, then you don't lose it since you didn't have it. But the process stops and will need to be reinitiated with another employer if it's an employer based GC depending on how far along you were in the process
If you lose your job under L1, you have 10 days to leave the country since your visa does not allow you to work for any other company. If you have a pending I-485, then you can stay until a decision is made however you cannot work.
10 days?! I always heard 60 or 90 days… Have you got a source to cite there?

How quickly after applications process starts you typically have that pending I-485 status?
I started my perm on Feb 2020, applied to AOS in Oct 2021. Still waiting on approval for my i485
