No billable, lots of free time, low stress, chilling with my family, no late nights or weekend work, etc etc etc
A1 if you're working more in-house than at a firm, I'd be looking for a new job. The whole point is to accept a pay cut in exchange for a better life.
1. No billable hours 2. Being able to just do good work and get recognized for good work without someone second guessing how long it took you to draft that, whether you’re on track to hit your hours this year, etc.
When I don't want to do something, fishing it out to outside counsel
Still making good money $200-300k+ to have a good wlb and satisfying low stress job

No billable hours. I am bad at billable hours.
Obviously no billables and second to that working with the business/people who aren't lawyers
Honestly hard to put into words how much healthier I felt moving in house. Going from an organization that was constantly critical, required 24/7 attention and filled with bitter and burnt out lawyers to an organization that is supportive, asks about life outside work, does not expect weekend work and has a friendly culture has been so good for my mental health. Literally feels like leaving the dark and going to the light. I knew I was unhappy but didn't realize how much potential I had to be happy before I moved.
Yessss. Law firms are just ... full of lawyers. No thank you!
Getting laid off so I could take the time to get comfortable with no longer practicing law.
Literally everything besides the pay.
No billable hours & a more predictable schedule.
Time for family and hobbies
No billables. No paying clients/not dealing with other lawyers all the time. Little/rare times of working nights and weekends so I can enjoy time with my family
No pressure to build a book of business.
Not billing time.
